Seeking a New Business Development Manager to help us not only grow our business, but also to help grow our brand so that we can bring the best sleep in the world to more and more people.

Position Overview:

Join us during a time of exciting U.S. expansion as New Business Development (NBD) Manager. In this role, you will lead and ensure the profit and growth over a specific area or region. You will be responsible for identifying prospects and building a strong pipeline of future partners, preferably Hästens stores. Your efforts and initiatives will secure business-growth in the hospitality sector.

As NBD Manager, you will assist and implement marketing strategies, help develop business action plans, and collaborate to achieve both the sales goals and the strategic goals of the company.

You will be a deal-maker, a relationship-builder, liaison, and nurturer of healthy business communication. While doing so, you will demonstrate great integrity, service, and partnership as a Hästens ambassador in alignment with our world-class standards.

This position will report to the Global New Business Development Manager

Duties & Responsibilities:

  •     Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, and select the deals in line with the region’s strategy and goals.
  •    Develop sales relationships with new partners by implementing Hästens’ way of working through business action plans.
  •   Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations.
  •    Build a network of business people in the area who meet the successful partner profile.
  •   Establish and maintain good and strong relationships with partners and their stores.
  •   Build and plan the business actions plans with new partners for 6 months to secure a great start for every new partner. Thereafter, hand over to Business Developer and Sales Support.
  •  Make sure that the stores act with the customers in mind and provide them with world-class service, following guidelines and store design. Ensure the integrity of the brand is always preserved.
  •   Follow both the Concept and Marketing guidelines plans to ensure brand alignment.
  • Ensure markets and stores support future eCommerce, website and other digital strategies designed to promote system growth.
  •  Ensure store teams follow-up with leads/consumers who request catalogs or bed tests, etc., following the guidelines and customer and consumer journeys requirements.
  •  Develop and consistently follow-up on a detailed local networking plan, build and grow strategic, influencer and direct relationships.
  • Keep control and understanding store operations while providing guidance and information to improve all conditions. Secure strong teams and provide the sales representatives with retail guidance and expertise.
  • Streamline communication of new products, service opportunities, special developments, networking, events, presentations, and ad-hoc information.
  •  Analyze obstacles in the sales process and taking corrective initiative for results.
  •   Identify hospitality clients and ensure the implementation of the hospitality program.

Experience and Requirements:

1. Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or equal; Master Degree in Business preferred or equal
  • Proven successful track record in B2B sales and negotiations
  • Proficiency with data analysis, forecasting, budgeting and proven ability to plan and manage resources
  • 3+ years’ experience working with sales techniques
  • Market knowledge, selling to customers need and great presentation skills
  • Follow guidelines, use tools and ensure a structured way of working when it comes to sales, visual merchandising, store concept. Respect and keep deadlines and follow up on results.

2. Requirements

  • Position is based in the Northern California market but will require considerable amount of travel, both within the country and to Köping in Sweden
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Professional and able to meet sales goals with a high level of energy and drive
  • Strong motivation for making sales adaptive and flexible to new “ways of working”
  • Planning, prospecting, and closing skills in terms of sales
  • Focused and organized
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with HQ organizations
  • Effective negotiator (internally & externally)
  • Customer-focused with genuine ethics and values
