About the role

Hästens is in a growth mode and is now looking for a Senior Accountant, to be based in London, to handle the finance activities for the UK Wholesale and Retail company.

Responsibilities:

• Managing the Finance and Accounting function in the company for wholesale and retail activities in the UK
• Monitoring import and export activities from the UK
• Ensures the integrity of accounting information
• Maintain intercompany balances, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Process supplier and customer invoices.
• Posting cash receipts and payments
• Dealing with employee expenses
• Group Billings
• Cash management and reporting
• Investment control
• Maintaining prepayments, accruals and fixed asset registers
• Responsible for preparation of monthly management accounts
• Responsible for annual financial statements and statutory accounts
• VAT return preparation
• Performing eliminations between divisions from the same legal entity
• Inventory control: assist on stocktaking procedures and adjustments in the accounting system
• Support and ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing
• Responsible for Annual Audit
• Participate in improvement projects and initiatives. Generate ad-hoc financial reports to support management in the decision-making process
• Handling other ad-hoc projects when needed
• Liaising with store personnel, suppliers, external auditors and other external consultants
• Work cross-functionally with other Hästens staff and managers, based in UK and outside UK.

Requirements:

• We are looking for an energetic, skilled and proactive fully certified accountant, with strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Fully energized and committed, willing to drive change and improvements
• Position to be based in London.
• Willing to travel abroad, when needed
• Flexible and can meet internal and statutory deadlines
• Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
• Experience with working with QuickBooks Online, or similar types of accounting software is mandatory
• Experience of Salesforce is an advantage
• Experience from Retail is an advantage
• Experience from E-Commerce is an advantage
• Experience and participation from implementation of various Finance systems is an advantage

Accountant Qualifications / Skills:

• Fully certified accountant, qualified in the UK
• 5 or more years of experience in handling accounts
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Well organized with a hands-on problem-solving attitude
• Flexible and can meet internal and statutory deadlines
• Excellent level of Excel knowledge
